Our story
Craftsmanship rooted in tradition
Founded on a passion for Britain's built heritage, CamHeritage brings together skilled craftsmen dedicated to preserving the character and integrity of historic buildings.
How we began
CamHeritage was established by tradesmen who shared a frustration with the heritage sector — too many historic buildings were being repaired with modern materials and methods that compromised their character and long-term integrity.
Working from our base at Loveridge Trading Estate in Southampton, we have built a reputation across the South of England for sympathetic, technically rigorous conservation work. Every project begins with a thorough understanding of the original construction, the materials used, and the building's significance.
We work closely with conservation officers, architects, and building owners to ensure that every intervention is appropriate, reversible where possible, and executed to the highest standard of traditional craft.
What guides us
Our values
Authenticity
We use traditional materials and techniques — lime mortars, seasoned hardwoods, hand-cut joinery — because they are right for the buildings we work on, not merely fashionable.
Integrity
We give honest assessments, recommend only what is necessary, and stand behind our work with a commitment to quality that outlasts any project.
Expertise
Our craftsmen hold recognised heritage qualifications and undertake continuous professional development to remain at the forefront of conservation practice.
Collaboration
Heritage work is rarely straightforward. We work as partners with clients, consultants, and statutory bodies to find solutions that satisfy all parties.
